Summary
Rockkeep is an offline catalog app for a rock, mineral, fossil, and gem collection. This policy is short because the app does very little with your data: it doesn't send any of it anywhere. Rockkeep collects nothing. The app makes no network request of any kind — no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no telemetry, and no account or login. This isn't a policy choice layered on top of the app; it's enforced in the app's build process, which fails the build if a network permission or entitlement is ever added.
What Rockkeep Stores, and Where
Everything you enter — specimens, find sites, trips, display cases, want-list entries, acquisition details, photos, and settings — is stored only in the app's local database and file storage on your device. None of it is transmitted to us, to Apple, to Google, or to any third party, because the app has no mechanism to transmit it at all.

What Rockkeep Does Not Do
- No account or sign-in is required or offered.
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking of any kind.
- No advertising SDKs, and no ads are shown.
- No device identifiers or advertising identifiers are collected.
- No data is sold or shared with third parties, because no data is collected from you in the first place.
- No cloud backend operated by the developer exists to store, process, or have access to your data.
Camera and Photo Library Access
Rockkeep asks for camera and photo library access only so you can attach photos to a specimen record. Photos you take or select are saved to your device's local storage (and, for photos taken in-app, optionally back to your photo library); they are never uploaded anywhere.
Backups
The "Export Backup" feature creates a single file containing your catalog and photos, and hands it to your device's own share sheet — where it goes from there (saved to a file, emailed, AirDropped, etc.) is entirely your choice. Rockkeep itself does not upload or transmit this file. "Restore Backup" reads a backup file you choose and merges or replaces your local catalog with it, entirely on-device.
Deleting Your Data
Settings → "Delete My Data" permanently and irreversibly erases the app's local database and all stored photos on your device. Because nothing is ever sent off-device, there is no server-side copy to also delete.
Children's Privacy
Rockkeep does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from anyone at all.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. Given the app's no-network design, any future change would need to accompany a corresponding change to the app itself.
