Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Rockkeep (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. License to Use the App

Beacon Light Investments grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Rockkeep on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to the App Store's or Google Play's applicable usage rules.

3. Your Content

Everything you enter into Rockkeep — specimen records, find sites, trips, display cases, want-list entries, acquisition details, photos, labels, and exports — is yours. It's stored locally on your device. We do not access, host, transmit, or claim any ownership over your content. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

4. No Purchases

Rockkeep is free to download and use, with every feature available with no limits. The App contains no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no advertising. Nothing in the App requests payment of any kind.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App except as permitted by law, and not to use the App for any unlawful purpose.

6. Not an Appraisal, Identification, or Insurance Service

Rockkeep is a personal cataloging tool. Identification fields (such as type, luster, Mohs hardness, and crystal system), acquisition costs, and any other detail in the App reflect only what you or another user enters — the App does not identify, authenticate, grade, or appraise a specimen. Rockkeep's acquisition ledger is a personal record intended to help you track what you've spent, and is not a substitute for a formal insurance appraisal, professional geological identification, or authentication service. You are solely responsible for verifying any information you rely on for insurance, sale, trade, or other purposes.

7. Backups

The App's "Export Backup" and "Restore Backup" features operate entirely on your device and through your device's own file-sharing mechanisms. Beacon Light Investments does not receive, store, or have access to your backup files, and is not responsible for backup files you save, transmit, lose, or fail to create.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Beacon Light Investments shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including any loss of data stored on your device.

10. Changes to the App or These Terms

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. If these Terms change materially, the "Effective date" above will be updated. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. Data already stored locally on your device remains yours; use "Delete My Data" in Settings to remove it.
